This is supposed to be an iPhone 5's home button mechanism, which is now price $6.68 on a company store.

This is supposed to be an iPhone 5's home button mechanism, which is now price $6.68 on a company store.

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise -- Apple parts leak from suppliers all the time before the actual device is released.

This time it's being sold by a company called ChinaBetter for $6.68.

This is part of the product description:

High quality and original home button flex cable for iPhone 5, used to replace your broken, damaged, cracked or unusable home button flex cable

Because this is only the home button mechanism and not the home button itself, we can't see any hints of the rumored touch-based design, and we can't tell if it's larger than the button on an iPhone 4.

We remain unconvinced, and to be honest, until we see someone with Apple credentials, and preferably a black turtleneck and jeans, holding one aloft, we’ll remain skeptical about all such leaks.

But who will buy such a repair part before the whole iPhone launch? iPhone is now always a word for eye-catching.
